Executive Chef Kenny West
Kenny brings his signature style of ingredient-forward, highly flavorful, elevated bar fare to Pharmacie Bar + Kitchen.
He has worked in some of the NY region’s most accomplished restaurants including Orama (Edgewater, NJ), Pig & Prince (Montclair, NJ) — where he assisted in cooking at three James Beard House dinners — and the acclaimed CraftBar (NYC).
The chef has also worked behind-the-scenes with Ryan DePersio and his family in a variety of positions at Bar Cara, NICO at NJPAC in Newark and Jersey City’s Battello, including a stint learning from and assisting Pastry Chef Cynthia DePersio at Fascino in Montclair.
In 2016, Chef Kenny was Champion of The Food Network’s Chopped program, season 28, episode 9. That year he also began a dramatic personal transformation, taking control of his health and losing 175 pounds through diet and lifestyle changes.
He is a 2010 graduate of the International Culinary Center’s Alma Italian Program, and staged at Bauer Hotel’s Restaurant De Pisis on the Grand Canal in Venice. A son of Jersey to the core, Chef Kenny lives in his hometown of Clifton.
Named with a nod to the past — the Pharmacy soda shop once flanked the original Bloomfield Avenue entrance to the historic Wellmont Theater — Pharmacie Bar + Kitchen serves up handcrafted classic and modern cocktails along with elevated contemporary bar bites just perfect for sharing.
With bars on two levels and decorated in a vintage vibe of exposed brick, black-and-white tile, marble and wrought iron, Pharmacie is a convivial gathering place for pre-show libations, a date night dinner, or a private party for up to 100 guests. Pharmacie is open six nights a week, with a happy hour featuring drink specials and bar treats.
